In this year, African Action celebrates its 15 year anniversary as a registered charity, although actually the first informal meetings alrerady took place in

Afrika Initiative, of course in cooperation with African Action. To grace the occasion one could buy handicrafts from all parts of Africa and there was a lively panel discussion on the future of Ghana. Whereas votes were still
being counted in the U.S., Ghana had voted and elected J.A. Kuffour.
Draughts tournament 2002, Hannover, Germany As part of our Africa Week project, a draughts tournament was organised for the first time in Hannover. Attendance
was quite promising. It is envisaged to organise this as a yearly event, if we find sponsors. The winner of this tournament was Philip QuayeTanz Workshop 2003, Northeim, Germany As part of African Action's integration/cultural exchange project in 2003, the Group Akoma Pa participated in a church service at Northeim, after which the congregation took part in
drumming and dancing workshops. Audience participation was next to none |
